Dr. Lillian Hung, Research Chair in Senior Care at UBC, is dedicated to promoting wellness and healthy aging. Collaborating with individuals facing chronic conditions like dementia, she focuses on the potential for the elderly to lead positive and fulfilling lives. Stress reduction is a key focus, recognising its impact on daily functioning. During the pandemic, she introduced robots and mobile apps to facilitate family connections with loved ones in long-term care. Lilian’s work underscores the significance of heartfelt messages to combat loneliness. She advocates for inclusive community-based research, involving seniors to co-create solutions that empower them to live their best lives.

Dr. Lillian Hung is the founder and head of IDEA Lab (Innovation in Dementia & Aging). Her research examines how technology and environment impact the care experiences of persons with dementia. She has expertise in patient-oriented research and knowledge translation. She is committed to facilitating connectivity between academia and practice, working collaboratively with inter-professional practitioners to find practical solutions to address pressing problems in care settings.
